"A Novel Economic Intervention to Reduce HIV Risks Among School-Going AIDS Orphans in Rural Uganda"

This paper, published by New America Foundation Senior Fellow Fred Ssewamala and co-authors in the Journal of Adolescent Health in 2008, describes findings of a study that tested an economic intervention for AIDS-orphaned adolescents in Uganda. The research tested how an economic intervention, which included the provision of a Child/Youth Development Account, affects HIV prevention attitudes and educational planning.
