Learn$ave - IDA Program in Canada

The Canada Learn$ave IDA program, an eight year nationwide initiative, is the single largest matched savings account demonstration in the world. Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI) and Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) selected ten organizations across Canada to set up special savings accounts for low-income participants that are held by participating financial institutions and matched by public funds. The accumulated savings (matched most commonly at 3:1) can be used anytime after the first year of savings for education, training, or small business capitalization.
