Middle East Development Accounts (Proposed)
A Global Assets Project Initiative
In 2004, working with Jewish and Arab colleagues, proposed a Middle East Development Account for all Israeli and Palestinian children. As a first step toward this goal, accounts for all impoverished Israelis, Jewish and Arab, considered by national policy-makers. In 2005, Shimon Peres, then head of the Labour Party, proposed a universal CSA. Proposals and discussions are continuing with Israeli and Palestinian partners.
