"School Attendance of Orphaned Children in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Role of Family Assets"

In this article, Fred M. Ssewamala, an assistant professor at Columbia University and Jami Curley, an assistant professor at School of Social Work of St. Louis University explore "caretaking options for the increasing number of orphaned children in sub-Saharan Africa, according to the abstract. "Policy should start moving toward empowering these families with asset-ownership opportunities" the authors say.
