SEED Uganda Project
A Global Assets Project Initiative
Principal Investigator: Dr. Fred Ssewamala (Senior Research Fellow)
Funded by a consortium of organizations and/or institutions including the Friedman Family Foundation, the Center for Social Development (CSD) and the Social Intervention Group at Columbia University, SEED-Uganda was designed as a pilot project to implement and test an asset-building intervention with a vulnerable population, orphaned children in Uganda. A rigorous program of research is integral to the project. Carefully documented results will be necessary if asset building is to be expanded to reach other vulnerable children and eventually millions of children in Africa, which is the long-term vision of this work.
